Tara Behring Vlasimsky is the Leader of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services for Intermountain Health where she oversees primary care and specialty clinical pharmacy, medication assistance, population health, prior authorization, and other ambulatory telehealth service. Prior to this role, Tara served as the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy at Denver Health Medical Center, where she led the expansion of several clinical pharmacy services with an emphasis on developing innovative models of care that work across disciplines and practice settings. Tara earned her B.S. in Biomechanical Engineering at Southern Methodist University then worked for ten years as a business consultant in the healthcare industry, working with hospitals, health plans and technology startups. Tara left consulting to earn her Pharm.D. from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Tara currently serves on the ASHP Council on Pharmacy Management and as a Colorado ASHP House of Delegates representative. Tara is past Chair of the Colorado Academy of Health-System Pharmacists and served on the Colorado Pharmacists Society Board for 7 years. She has been recognized as the 2021 Colorado Pharmacist of the Year and the 2011 Colorado Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year. Tara received recognition as a Fellow of ASHP in 2022.
