Seth Hartman, Pharm.D., MBA, is the Executive Director of Enterprise Pharmacy Informatics & Clinical Communications at The University of Chicago Medicine, an 811 bed pediatric and adult, Level 1 Trauma Academic Medical Center. Seth graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2008 with his Pharm.D. degree, and in 2017 graduated with his Healthcare MBA from Oregon Health and Science University. He is RPD for a PGY2 Residency in Informatics, serves as preceptor to residents and students at UCM, and lectures at schools of pharmacy when available. Seth was part of the ASHP Faculty that produced the Pharmacy Informatics Essentials program in 2014 (now titled the ASHP Pharmacy Informatics Certificate program.) He was Chair of the Educational Steering Committee in 2015, and has presented, moderated and was program chair for ASHP Summer Meeting sessions over several years. Seth has presented at the 2019 and 2020 Leaders Conferences at ASHP on data, data analytics, and modeling. Seth’s research interests span multiple topics including the use and improvement of the electronic health record to better medication outcomes for patients and the reduction of the cognitive burden of care enacted through electronic means.
