Garrett Eggers, PharmD, MS., is the Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer at the Cleveland Clinic. He received his PharmD from the University of Wisconsin, and completed a two year Heath-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at UPMC with an MS is pharmacy administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Garrett has been actively involved in professional organizations, including serving as the president of the Cleveland Society of Health-System pharmacists, division director for legal affairs in the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and as a member of the Section Advisory Group for Quality and Compliance within ASHP. In Garrett's current role, he oversees Cleveland Clinic's enterprise-based pharmacy services for Northeast Ohio locations, including regional hospital operations, oncology services, ambulatory clinical services, sterile products, and emergency services. Throughout his leadership career, Garrett has worked in various different practice areas, including sterile production, cardiology services and satellite operations, and community hospital pharmacy leadership. Garrett has a passion for medication safety, automation and technology, and high-reliability. Throughout his career, Garrett has worked to make the medication use process safer for patients, by advancing the use of robotics in sterile compunding, implementing enterprise solutions for gravimetric technology for hazardous and high-risk compounding, maximizing the use of barcode scanning in sterile product compounding, and implementing a health-system continuous temperature monitoring system to ensure medication storage integrity.
